DJ MARKET TALK: Singapore STI May Drift Lower; 3000 Support Tipped
0048 GMT [Dow Jones] Singapore's STI may drift slightly lower despite mild gains on Wall Street Monday as local PMI signals a contraction for the fourth straight month, says Carey Wong, an analyst at OCBC. "The markets will be cautious. Wall Street was just slightly up. We won't have much movement in the market as there is hardly anything going on," he says, tipping 3000 support and resistance near 3050. He adds that the market is likely to wait for banks and property firms' earnings in coming days.
Sembcorp Marine (
S51.SG) may fall after the rig builder reports a 48% dip in 3Q earnings after the market closed on Monday.
United Overseas Bank (
U11.SG) and
Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. (
O39.SG) may be in focus ahead of their earnings reports later this week
